Oh Me, Oh My!

I have been busy! Both Adore Home Magazine AND Matchbook Magazine launched new issues the other day. (I apologize for the delay, I was experiencing some technical difficulty yesterday) Anyway, as you can imagine I have been busy reading them in my spare time (or more like studying them....whatever).  There are some pretty amazing images and lots of swoon-worthy spring colors in both issues.  Let me show some of Look So Lovely's favorites.

First stop Adore Home:

I have a small place in my heart for color coordinated book cases
Pretty wallpaper, desk chair AND matching chevron pillow & lamp shade

Love picture via - madebygirl
NEED that pendant lamp, like, immediately

Some Matchbook Mag action:

Starburst mirror + lots of lovely trinkets = pretty awesome picture
Feeling some serious desk envy
Loving the orange & navy color and pattern combos
Yes, it's true about my bow-tie infatuation and love of the Royals
Hope you enjoy them as much as I did and would love for your feedback about either magazine, what are your favs?!

Wishing you a lovely and warm weekend.

LSL {Thoughts & Quotes} - Introvert

The title of this post seems to sum up the way I'm feeling this week.  You know those days when you think, what's my purpose, what am I doing with my life, given a million bucks how would it be different?  That kind of week. I get these days when I feel such sudden bursts of creativity mixed with the need for wanting more.  I  get overwhelmed with thoughts of, what to do, how to do it and the courage to just go for it (whatever that "it" may be).

I started this blog to have that creative avenue I was craving, a space to share my thoughts, not all are necessarily award-worthy, but hoping to make it a place for me to share lovely little inspirations that I come across. (And, a place that can be just for me!) Then, while exploring my new favorite website, Pinterest, (thank you, Lizzie) I came across these two quotes and it got the introvert in my thinking....

I feel the need for a creative change in my life, just not sure what it is yet, but I do know that I want to make this experience here on earth worth while.  Something that I can be proud of.

So, that's just me thinking...do you lovelies ever get days like this?  What do you do when that overwhelming need for something more comes across?

Going on a road trip...

I'm off to another girls weekend.  I'm so thrilled to be getting out of this rain to take part in celebrating a very dear friend's pre-weddding festivities. I anticipate lots of girly conversations, eating way too much, maybe having a few too many cocktails, wearing sparkly dresses, and having an all out blast with some of my favorite ladies. So look out Las Vegas, because here we come!

Wishing you a lovely weekend.

Happy Spring!

hannah berman of pie bird press via Kate Spade

Spring is here! Well, not really here in Northern California with all this torrential rain. I should really say, Happy flashes of Spring! I just can't wait for the sun to start showing it's beautiful face on a regular basis and am so desperately looking forward to busting out my favorite spring things...color.

With that said, nothing screams spring to me more than Kate Spade.  I love the way she is not afraid to use color (and a lot of it, at that).  This spring collection is no exception.  Ms. Spade's website has just been re-vamped and it is amazing. Seriously. If you haven't checked it out, well what are you waiting for?  There is a "shop" option and a "play" option. I suggest "play", it's full of favorites: favorite color of the season, favorite books they're reading, and even a weekly color blog that is capable of wasting plenty of time on what's new in the wonderful world of Kate.

While daydreaming away on her site, I found some Look So Lovely favorites:

Those necklaces! That pink purse! And, especially that pineapple clutch!  Ahh, I'll take one of everything pretty, pretty please.

All goodies can be found on Kate Spade's website. My new motto for spring is inspired by her (and her team)....get out there and "live colorfully."  How do you like to mix it up for spring? Any words to live when mixing and matching lovely brights?

For Japan With Love

My heart is breaking.  It breaks when I see the images and video rolls of all the destruction and chaos the earthquake and tsunami in Japan have caused. Then it breaks again when I listen to the news and radio stories filled with daily updates about more devastation.  My eyes can't help but well up in tears. every. time. I just don't know what to do.

When I came across "Bloggers Day of Silence" I KNEW I had to be a part of it.  The lovely ladies at Utterly Engaged and Ever Ours have organized a day of silence in the blogger community, to grow awareness and support for Japan. They have teamed up with ShelterBox, which, described from Utterly Engaged's blog, "...provide emergency shelter and lifesaving supplies for families around the world who are affected by disasters at the time when they need it most.  Each large, green ShelterBox is tailored to a disaster but typically contains a disaster relief tent for an extended family, blankets, water storage and purification equipment, cooking utensils, a stove, a basic tool kit, a children's activity pack and other vital items."

I am proud and honored to be able to participate.  For more information on ShelterBox, go here. Please take a moment to help and make a difference in the lives of the quake and tsunami stricken people of Japan and donate HERE.  Ever little bit helps and whatever you are able to contribute, WILL make a difference.

To honor this simple request, Friday I will be participating in "Bloggers Day of Silence" and encourage you to do the same.

Somewhere Over The Rainbow....

Thinking about St. Patrick's Day always puts rainbows in my mind. I know it should be instead, to "wear green, don't get pinched!" but ever since I was little, I think about those little leprechauns hiding and one day finding that pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.

In the spirit of wanting to wish you a Happy St. Patrick's day, I thought I would share this holiday, not by showing you beautiful green images that you would normally associate the day by, but by sharing the rainbows that I think of for this day.

These rainbows, looked too delicious not to share

Yes, please! My birthday is in August.

Extra! Extra!

A few months ago I discovered Lonny Magazine.  I don't know how long it's been around, all I really know that it's about interior design, how to be more eco-friendly in your design, pieces of helpful advice, and lots of pretty, pretty pictures.  The latter tends to sell me everytime and for this web-based mag, I think it is just fabulous!

Their March/April edition just hit the net and I have been busy (on my lunch break, of course) perusing it and fiercely making notes on how better to design my space (in my imaginary mansion that I will someday own, duh).  The great thing is that, not only is it an amazing source for inspiration, it gives you great ideas on how to layout a room and what would work for your specific space.  There are suggestions from almost every editorial, which I completely appreciate so I then can apply it to my needs, even if it's just to show me how to add a little extra "flair" to a room or coffee table to look even more chic.

So, grab that afternoon tea, find a comfy chair and enjoy the March/April issue of Lonny, found here.

For your viewing pleasure, here's a selection of some of my favs from this issue:

Live the language

I came across these sweet 'Live The Language' videos and had to share.  I am sad (and a little embarrassed) to admit that I have never been across the pond to Europe.  These videos are definitely making my urge to travel very high, in addition, to reminding me that I need to learn another language, like, as soon as possible. If I was able to learn while watching these lovely videos, it'll be easier than I thought.

More information about Live The language, and the company that made these videos, Education First, can be found here

"Someone Like You"

I've been a big fan of Adele for a while and her last, most popular, song "Rolling In The Deep" is one that I will continue to turn up and sing at the very top of my lungs every time I hear it.  But this one, "Someone Like You"....seriously gives me chills!  She. is. amazing.  Her voice is so velvety and soulful.
This video was filmed in her home, which in itself is so cool, but it truly shows off her style, I jadore the packed bookcases, her amazing bed, and the way they filmed it mostly through a mirror. I am in awe. You must check it out.

I love her.
