Day Dream

via ffffound

Happy Weekend!
It's forecasted to snow this weekend (in San Francisco, no less) for the first time in like, a jillion years.  So, while that is all happening I'll be day dreaming of warmer climates, I'm thinking...picturesque Venice, in the summertime, in this fabulous dress.

Have a lovely weekend all!

Lovely Life Series

I'm back from my one of my very best friend's wedding festivities and if it's at all possible, this weekend was even more fun that I had hoped it would be.  And, I had some pretty high expectations.

So, getting to Sonoma was a bit dreary... This is a view from my car going over the bridge, yuck!

When Mr. W and I got to the hotel all that bad weather was no longer an issue.  Once we were safe, warm and inside we were ready to have some fun. If you are ever up in Sonoma, you MUST check out The Lodge at Sonoma.  So gorge!

The grounds at The Lodge

And if you ever get a chance to go there, I highly (very highly!) recommend you to go to their Carneros Bistro and Bar...simply ah-mazing

The weekend was wonderful, the bride was beyond beautiful, the wedding was absolutely darling, the food was delish, the cocktails were flowing and seeing my favorite friends in the world all in one place was the icing on my cake.

And, they had a photobooth at the wedding...need I say more?!

PS. Can you tell I am loving this new iphone app, instagram. And it's free!

Weekend Get-a-way

Well, I'm off to a wedding in Sonoma this weekend for one of my very best friends! I am so overjoyed and honored to be a part of this big day and know that we (all of us in the wedding party) are going to have a blast!  I also know that I probably packed for a year and I am still frightful of forgetting some cute sweater that I know will just complete that imaginary outfit?!

With that said, I have so many friends that have recently been married and are soon to be married this year, I can't help but day-dream about my own big day.  Don't get me wrong, I am in NO rush to race to the alter, but I do have an amazing guy that I can picture doing that with.  Anthropologie just launched it's own wedding dress collection, BHLDN, which I believe is an abbreviation of a Swiss word that means, Beholden, or to be loved.  The dresses are so beautiful and unique in only that Anthro way.

On Anthropologie's website they have this fun quiz to find out "What Kind of Bride are You?"

I am the Nostalgic Romantic.

What kind of bride will you be?  Or if you could do a wedding all over again, what would your change?

Have a lovely weekend!

Blue Jean Baby, LA Lady...

...Steamstress for the band.  I adore this song! It reminds me of a scene from one of my favorite movies, Almost Famous.  I love this movie, first for the story, I love anything based on a true story and secondly for the retro fashions.  I love that rocker, 70's free spirit look.

New York Fall 2011 Fashion week is well underway and all I can think about is what I wouldn't give to get a chance to go to just one show, let alone see multiple designers under those Central Park tents...

There seems to be a trend happening through those NY tents (and yes, I realize this same trend has made it's appearance throughout the last runway go-round) but...Ladies and Gents, the 70's have made their thriumphant return. And in my opinion, I say bring it on.  I love (and slightly envy) the effort-less, bohemian style, the funky colors of mustard, charturese, tans, and brick reds are a weclome change to the many fall looks of monotone greys and blacks. The pops of color and textures is what really have caught my eye. The mixing and matching of patterns together to create such a unique (and lovely) look. What I really appreciate is the designers have taken a classic look/era and have updated it.

Below are some shots from Tory Burch, Tommy Hilfiger and (my fave) Marc Jacobs -

Love Is In The Air

Happy Valentine's Day!  Now I know that this is just a Hallmark Holiday and not everyone is on board with the overload of lovey dovey-ness, but I have to admit, I really enjoy all the extra love in the air. I like that it gives people a free pass to gush what's really in their hearts.

I received this lovely e-card in my inbox this morning and simply adore it! (Thank you, CT!). It reminds me of a quote from one of my all time favorite shows..."he's her lobster."  Yes, it's just my second post and I am already quoting Friends, but Phoebe said it just right.  I've found my lobster, have you?

This lovely little e-card, and many more, can be found on Kate Spade's website.

New to the 'sphere

Yes, I've decided to write a blog. I know how cliche, everyone seems to be doing the same.  I don't believe that mine will be too different than the masses, but wanted to do something a bit more creative with my life.   So, I thought, why not?! Let's give this thing a go!  I would like this to be a place that I am able to share my thoughts on all things lovely.  Interested in interior design, fashion, art, travel, food, and making this place we live in all a little more lovely.

I'll start my very first post with this business card that was included in my last purchase from etsy.com. (A quite addicting site, if I don't say so myself.)  It was a sweet lovely little surprise that made me smile. I hope it makes you do the same.
