For Japan With Love

My heart is breaking.  It breaks when I see the images and video rolls of all the destruction and chaos the earthquake and tsunami in Japan have caused. Then it breaks again when I listen to the news and radio stories filled with daily updates about more devastation.  My eyes can't help but well up in tears. every. time. I just don't know what to do.

When I came across "Bloggers Day of Silence" I KNEW I had to be a part of it.  The lovely ladies at Utterly Engaged and Ever Ours have organized a day of silence in the blogger community, to grow awareness and support for Japan. They have teamed up with ShelterBox, which, described from Utterly Engaged's blog, "...provide emergency shelter and lifesaving supplies for families around the world who are affected by disasters at the time when they need it most.  Each large, green ShelterBox is tailored to a disaster but typically contains a disaster relief tent for an extended family, blankets, water storage and purification equipment, cooking utensils, a stove, a basic tool kit, a children's activity pack and other vital items."

I am proud and honored to be able to participate.  For more information on ShelterBox, go here. Please take a moment to help and make a difference in the lives of the quake and tsunami stricken people of Japan and donate HERE.  Ever little bit helps and whatever you are able to contribute, WILL make a difference.

To honor this simple request, Friday I will be participating in "Bloggers Day of Silence" and encourage you to do the same.

  1. I think everyone’s heart is in the right place with this. I’d like to ask bloggers who are not posting however, (and blog readers!) to use their time contacting Representatives and the Japanese government in order to urge the Japanese government to permit food and supplies airdrops to Northeast Japan where people are now starving, a week after the earthquake. See a video interview with a Japan scholar on my site: that explains why.

    Thanks if you can help!

Sorry if this is a duplicate - I've been up all night with this...getting sleepy!
